Just a little catch-up....

I just thought I would add a couple of photo's to prove that, although it's taking me far longer than it should (something I had better get used to - see other ) I am still spining folks! I have finished half of the Fine Wool Tops in Green Great and am on the final straight on the other half. Looking foward to plying it (one of my favourite jobs!) and then all that is left is the washing and blocking - the really fun bit!

I have been busy - honest!

I have been really busy knitting and it's beginning to pay off! Hooray for me!! And as 2 out of my 3 projects on the go are for me it really is for a change!! First off is the Northern Lights Project. This jacket is coming together really nicely, the body is finished in yummy soft stripes ( OK , possibly not the best choice for a personage of my proportions , but I like it!!) Before knitting the arms, I have taken it into my head to knit the hood - yep! A huge in proportion pixie hood with a large green tassel on the end and possibly matching tassels on braids at the from to finish it orf - haven't decided yet, it may depend on the amount of yarn left over. I have sufficient cherry alpaca to line the visible parts of the inside of the hood so that is cool. And the Noro domino shrug is turning out really nicely too (can you spot the obvious mistake?). I love the way Noro lends itself to this sort of project, with the colour changes just fitting the size of

Latest spinnning May 2011 0005 Originally uploaded by Yarnspider more often, but I have been bury spinning. From left to right, 3 ply Wensleydale locks, fine silk and mohair/merino mix and finally on the right baby camel and silk plied with merino/mohair mix. All of these I've been intending to spin for a while to to see them finished and hanked ready to wash and block is a treat. I've also been weaving, this hasn't been doing so well, mainly as I've not been well enough to keep constant tension on my throws. but there is a temple in the post winging it's way to me, so that should be sorted soon. My ridged heddle is coming along nicely which is excellent and I'm really pleased with the heavy cashmere scarf that is growing on there. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks I should be able to get my table loom slayed with a nice silk warp for Mums scarf, only 2 months late, hey! not bad going for me.... and then I will have a full set, my inkle also sleyed up and
