Foiled again!

I know, I've been missing for a bit.  Combination of summer cold unreliable lungs and the start of the British Summer (when it officially rains for 18 hours out of every 24!), meant I landed in bed for the better part of last week.
IMAG0673But I was not idle! As you can see, If I'm stuck in bed I tend to nest!  So on the right I have lots of fibre books/ knitting patterns textiles books etc, and on the the left I have several projects to keep me going.
On the bed are the Kindle and telly knitting (at the moment in the snug waiting for the next match at Roland Garros) It is an Aran sweater for DH and the cuffs are now on their third incarnation.  Managed the welts and the first repeat and discovered I had dropped a stitch in the welt.  I ripped them back and cast on again. Got as far as the second repeat when DH kindly pointed out that they were too tight! so third time luck and they seem to be working out ok now.
IMAG0675IMAG0674In the actual headboard I also keep a couple of projects that live in my bedroom (until they are finished of course!) the lime green is bed knitting. (Everyone has bed knitting don't they?  Just to do that little row or two before dropping off?  No?  Oh well.)  At the moment, it's a Celtic Lattice vest from the Folk Vests Book.

IMAG0676And finally, there is my spinning.  Yep. I really do spin in bed! This is a superb Falkland Merion/Silk blend from John Arbon and it really is a dream to spin.  I'm using my IST Russian Spindle and loving it.  It's being plyed with some reeled silk. it really is a soothing thing to do when stuck in bed with the instruction to "put your feet up".IMAG0677

And this is how I stave off boredom, all supervised by the Moppet who takes up a supervisory role on the foot end, just to make sure I don't overdo it.

I took some knitting to bed once, mostly bed is for sleeping and reading in this house, but if I had to have bedrest like you I would definitely have a whole host of extra crafty projects on hand to keep me occupied!
